How does a Refrigerated Air Dryer work?

  1. Air enters the refrigerator and flows to an air-to-air heat exchanger through an air-to-air heat exchanger. The warm air is pre-cooled by the incoming cold air.
  2. The air is then cooled to about 37 degrees Fahrenheit in a Refrigerated -to-air heat exchanger.
  3. The water droplets separate from the cold air, and the moisture is ejected from the unit. Dirt and oil are also removed by draining.
  4. The air is then recirculated through the air-to-air heat exchanger. The air dryer’s cooled air is reheated by the incoming warm air. The pressure dewpoint of freshly dry air is between 35 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
