What is a desiccant air dryer?
A desiccant dryer or an adsorption dryer is a piece of industrial equipment that uses desiccant materials to eliminated water from the air channelled through it.
A desiccant is a special adsorbent material with a high affinity for water. This special material has hygroscopic properties that allow it to maintain a dry immediate environment by pulling and holding water molecules within itself.
Desiccant air dryers lower the dew point of compressed air by adsorbing the water vapour in the compressed air onto the surface of the desiccant.
Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers provide very dry compressed air with zero air loss for intermittent flow. Designed for point-of-use applications.
Single-tower compressor desiccant air dryer
Our Super-Dry Compressed Air Dryers contain two highly efficient polypropylene coalescer elements at inlet & outlet ports to absorb oil and all solid air particles. Included is one desiccant bag specifically designed to absorb water vapours and humidity from your compressed air system.
The D Series is a single tower desiccant air dryer designed for point-of-use and intermittent flow applications.
Our D series air dryer range:
D1 – Desiccant Air Dryer – 70SCFM
D2 – Desiccant Air Dryer – 150 SCFM
D3 – Desiccant Air Dryer – 200SCFM
D4 – Desiccant Air Dryer – 300 SCFM
The wet compressed air enters at the inlet, is first separated due to the off-set inlet creating centrifugal separation to trap water droplets, and subsequently passes around a polypropylene coalescer element, felt pads and stainless-steel grids to remove solid particulates. The air flows upward through a sewed filtration desiccant bag that acts as a sponge to absorb moisture. Finally, the air flows again through a second stage of filtration to eliminate any desiccant dust.
This 3-stage system efficiently provides separation, filtration and drying. It is time to replace the cartridge when the Moisture Gauge indicates saturation. The replacement is fast and mess free thanks to the US stainless-steel clamp. The rust-free powder coated aluminium housing is made in Canada and includes built-in brackets.
The maximum working pressure of the Super-Dry desiccant air dryers is 150 psi.
Applications for desiccant air dryers include
- Sand Blasting
- Paint Spraying
- Dust Collectors
- Foam Spray
- Air Welders
- Plasma Cutting
- Air Tools
- Packing Equipment

Inline desiccant air dryers
Super-Dry Systems ATD Series Compressed Air Dryers are In-Line desiccant air dryers for point-of-use applications. These mobile air dryers are the perfect solution for air tools, nail guns, and spray painting.
The ATD Series is an in-line compressed air dryer designed for point-of-use applications. The in-line dryer will remove water and moisture from compressed air, making it perfect for air tools, pneumatic equipment or instruments requiring dry air. When used in a cold environment, it will prevent nail guns from freezing. The cartridge consists of activated alumina in a sewed bag. Replacing the In-line Dryer cartridge is a quick procedure. No tools are needed and there is no handling of desiccant involved. The dryer is perfect for intermittent use and offers a very low pressure drop.
Water vapor in the compressed air lines is the leading cause of paint imperfections and damages to pneumatic tools. Typical compressed air is saturated with 100% relative humidity. That means the compressed air is carrying a lot of moisture vapor when it goes into your paint gun or other air tools
